Island Insurance Companies, the state’s only locally-owned property and casualty insurer, is pleased to announce that The Law Offices of Cary T. Tanaka has joined Island Insurance as its newly created Staff Counsel.

Tanaka, now Island Insurance Vice President and Managing Staff Counsel, has served for nearly three decades as outside Panel Counsel representing the company’s customers.

He earned a Juris Doctor from Whittier College School of Law and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. A graduate of Iolani School, he is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association, the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii and the Ninth Circuit Bar.
