Island Insurance, Hawaiʻi’s only locally owned property and casualty insurance company, has appointed Scott Kuioka as President.

Scott joined Island Insurance in 2012. His previous roles at Island Insurance include Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Investment Officer, and Chief Risk Officer. Scott oversaw all operating departments and spearheaded strategic planning. Throughout his tenure, he implemented programs to improve the insurance experience for customers and agents. Scott’s experience also encompasses investment and executive leadership positions at Tradewind Capital Group, Bank of Hawaii, and Mellon Financial.

Scott contributes to the community as Co-Chair of Aloha United Way’s Tocqueville Society, and as a Director of the Carole Kai Charities Great Aloha Run. Born and raised in Honolulu, Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University and an MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco.
