Ben Steele
Swinerton is pleased to announce the promotion of Ben Steele to Operations Manager. Ben has been with Swinerton since 2013 in a variety of roles ranging from Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, and Project Executive for the Self-Perform group. Ben’s early expertise focused within the hospitality market supporting projects such as Hyatt Centric, Turtle Bay Cottages, Westin Maui, and Ka’anapali Beach Resort.
In his new role as Operations Manager, Ben is responsible for the oversight planning and construction of the project. His responsibilities include the supervision of the preconstruction effort, regular project reviews to ensure conformance to the contract obligations, and consultation with the project team should any major issues arise on the project. Ben is also responsible for all aspects of the division’s project management and field operations. His responsibilities include project planning and staffing, contract review and negotiation, and oversight of the project team to ensure compliance with project team commitments, safety, and quality standards.
Born and raised in Washington, Ben moved to the islands in 2006 with the intent to embark in a career in construction. He spent his early part of his career as Project Engineer supporting various project sites throughout the islands. Ben is a recent graduate of the Pacific Resource Partnership Executive Leadership Series, a year-long program that is sponsored by the local Hawaii Carpenters Union.
