The Hawaiʻi Community Foundation (HCF) is pleased to announce the addition of Mary Leong Saunders as vice president of philanthropy. In this position, Leong Saunders will oversee HCF’s development and donor relations, and planned giving.

Leong Saunders served most recently as the vice president of philanthropy for Catholic Charities Hawai‘i, where she provided leadership and guidance for fund development and community engagement programs and activities. Other previous positions include executive director for Family Promise of Hawai‘i, a nonprofit organization serving homeless families with children, state supervisor of the National Assessment of Educational Progress, as well as executive director for the Rotary Club of Honolulu. She is a current member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and previously served on the board of Junior League of Honolulu.

A Maryknoll High School alumna, Leong Saunders received a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
